After we got settled in the RV park, we drove into the park. Autos are only allowed to drive in 12 miles.
At the end of the distance autos can drive in is a parking lot and trail head for the Savage River Loop Trail.
It is only 1 mile to the crossover bridge and then 1 mile back, but it is a lot of ups and downs.

Fairbanks to Denali
Day 140 Anchorage to Glennallen
We were going to leave at 9:00AM, but a new belt was too worn so a trip to the Cummins dealer for a new pulley tensioner. By the time that was all fixed and fueled up at Fred Meyer, we left at 11:40AM and arrived in Glennallen at 3:30. Sure seemed like a lot longer than 4 hours. The Glenn Hwy is narrow, curvy, and bumpy. It was raining much of the time so we missed much of the beautiful scenery. Also some miles of construction. Fortunately the sun was shining when we went by the Matanuska Glacier.
